Unfortunately,a mealy mouthed reply from the owner is about all you're going to get. uneven service is a long-standing problem there. He parrots the same line about giving good service, etc. on every negative online review.

I just took my son and 15 of his friends to BJ's in Brea for his birthday, so far, 8 of our guests have food poisoning. We had Caeser Salad, Pasta with Afredo Sauce and four different pizzas. We also found out that a friend from school got food poisoning at the same restaurant just two weeks ago.

I thought the restaurant was great and is definitely missed. It was a place you could
enjoy good food, and still have a conversation with friends at a larger table. The halibut was the best anywhere! I would love the recipe!

Wow! This is eerie! I had almost the same experience! I am savvy about the DT Parking ritual of hijacked prices during big events so parked a few blocks away (got away with $8, most were over$10 and I saw $25) but on my little hike to the show I, too, noticed BottlRock and had remembered stopping there in a former life when there was a sport known as Basketball and a team, I think it was-the Lakers?! Anyway I had ducked in here before a game and had some great light apps and a couple of beers so when I came upon the sign announcing the 3rd Annual Tasting I had to check it out! Only I made the decision to taste the wines first! There must've been over 100! I stayed 3 hours almost forgetting the Auto Show altogether! Such great prices I bought almost 2 cases and had a great lasagna for lunch! So I didn't get to the show til almost 4. Most of the cars seemed like they were still in place and and I couldn't wait to get back and pick up my pirates cache' of wines at BottleRock. Loved the Cado electric Car (going to test drive it in Century City) and the old Morgon's! Good Show, Good Wine, Very Good Day!

The food is great. The service is exceptional. You can actually carry on a conversation in the restaurant.
The dinks are the best pour in town.

I have eaten at the Riviera since the Costa Mesa days.

So sad to see it go, thank goodness I just got my birthday party in before they closed.

To the owners I would suggest opening up somewhere else. Please...
